Role models from today for tomorrow
In its Environmental Agenda, the Canton of Basel-Stadt presents local initiatives and people who are committed to a future-oriented world, and also provides a platform to draw attention to local environmental events.
Putting the environment on the agenda | The Canton of Basel-Stadt has launched the Environmental Agenda to highlight good examples drawn from the local population. It provides information on the activities of specialist agencies, organisations and companies in the broad field of environment and sustainability.

Role models from today for tomorrow |
Role models exist in the illuminating and motivating example set by people who are committed to a sustainable world through their actions. Such examples are presented in the Environmental Agenda. Thus, these good ideas are intended to spread, set an example and find imitators. And perhaps these will give rise to new stories. The possibilities are unlimited. Here we present some of Basel's environmental role models and their projects in the fields of nutrition, transport and littering. Find inspiration for your own activities.

Sustainability satisfies the appetite | Sustainable nutrition should not be a question of income. Salome Thommen and Madlen Portmann from "4seasons" pass on practical knowledge and skills on cooking and nutrition. "We want to show everyone, but especially people on a low income, how to cook sustainably and healthily."

Sustainability drives through the streets | Guests who take Tilmann Schor's bicycle taxi "Vaxi" are chauffeured through the city quietly and without air pollution, with muscle power and supported by only a small, solar-powered electric motor.

Sustainability improvises in public squares| With their theatre project "Litter Lemons", Olivia Ronzani and Vinzent Gisi, two young theatre producers from Basel, use public spaces to provoke people into spontaneous discussion about littering and their own consumer behaviour. The focus is on four amateur actors who are welfare recipients.
