The suissetec campus a pioneer for energy transition.
Already mystical today, even if the real Christmas magic won't happen for another year: This is how the suissetec campus in Lostorf, Solothurn, presents itself. A unique lighthouse project is being created here, not only in terms of learning, but also in terms of energy. This autumn, the training center for building services engineers was the first site in Switzerland to receive the provisional "Minergie site" certificate. The new building will be officially opened shortly before Christmas 2024. But this is just the beginning.
For the energy transition and climate protection This has been the motto of the building services engineers for many years. What the professionals plan and install for their customers on a day-to-day basis - e.g. renewable heating systems or solar systems on rooftops and facades - is also the self-imposed benchmark for their own actions. For example, the suissetec Campus training center is being expanded and converted today in a way that will be the established standard tomorrow. This is at a place where young people are trained and educated to become specialists who are indispensable to society. This is because they provide clean drinking water and fresh indoor air as well as comfort and coziness within their own four walls.

Top educational infrastructure| First, an impressive new building will be added, then the existing premises (training rooms, hotels and restaurant, workshops, laboratories, etc.) will be sustainably renovated from 2025. In addition to modern didactic concepts, a great deal revolves around the topic of energy. The initial situation is unique in that the suissetec Campus offers many types of use in a compact space, which are usually spread over much larger areas. The convincing overall concept led to the award of the "Minergie site" label for the first time in Switzerland at the end of September, which was introduced specifically for sites with a mixture of existing and new buildings.
Stefanie Steiner, project manager at Minergie, explains: "The suissetec Campus implements visionary monitoring with visualization of comfort and energy data. Over the course of the year, it is planned to be completely self-sufficient in electricity using a large PV system and a wood-fired combined heat and power plant. In terms of renewable energy supply and monitoring, this really is a forward-looking project. But this project is not only exemplary in terms of energy and building technology. It is also characterized by a climate-optimized environmental design and the promotion of sustainable mobility."
